Community Garden proves bountiful!

Will Deady of Northborough is on the path to earning the rank of Eagle Scout.  His original goal was to plant a garden in order to supply the Pantry with fresh produce each week.  Under his direction the small plot of land at Saint Rose of Lima church flourished this summer producing 2,573 pounds of vegetables! The amount surpassed the Pantry needs and Will was able to share the bounty of fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, squash and peppers with the Worcester County Food Bank, the Mustard Seed, The Northborough Senior Center and the Southborough Food Pantry.
In addition to the garden Will and his team carved out a nice seating area in the shade; complete with a bench and flagpole.
Thanks to all who helped with the digging, watering, weeding and harvesting !!
